Collection and Use of Personal Information

Pursuant to the Privacy Principles and our operation of a number of online shopping malls, markets, trade exchanges, and escrow services, we collect personal information from our Members, Buyers and Sellers in our Deal Centre and Markets in regional territories globally when they enter any of the Company’s online Deal Centres, Malls and Markets (“Websites”) and set up Members accounts to buy and sell their wares. We may also collect information from any person who contacts us by email, fax, telephone, postal mail, or in person at any of our offices worldwide, or via any of our websites on the internet.

We note that we also collect personal information from you directly on this website via your Members Account which has a number of licensed “nicknames” – if you have any comments or queries regarding any of our services or anything in this internet site, you may send such comments or request that we contact you with further information by providing your contact details via the Contact Us links on this web site or the Support Ticket module in your Members Account. The purpose of collecting such information from you is to enable us to:

  • provide you with the service/s you request; and
  • provide you with information about our malls and markets
  • to ensure fair and safe trading to all members

In addition to that information, which you voluntarily provide to us while using the websites, we maintain server logs regarding visits made to the websites. Most internet sites maintain such server logs, and we analyze such logs in an effort to constantly improve the value of materials on the site. The server logs DO NOT contain personally identifiable or service information and we DO NOT make any attempt to link the traffic information on the site with the individuals who actually visit the websites. From time to time we may “break-down” overall usage statistics according to a user’s domain name, browser type, and Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) type by reading information from the browser string (information contained in every user’s browser). The sole purpose of this “break-down” is to improve the performance of our websites, monitor pages of our sites that are visited infrequently and improve such pages, and to determine what type of browser support we require.
